US tech giant Apple Inc. has stopped using the memory chip of China’s Yangtze Memory Technologies Company (YMTC). The reason for this is that the US has tightened export rules against Chinese technology companies. Indian companies are expected to benefit from this. Apple started using YMTC’s flash memory chip earlier this year. According to reports, initially these chips were planned to be used only in iPhones sold in the Chinese market.

A close look at 30 Chinese companies

According to reports, the company was looking to buy 40 per cent of the chips required for all iPhones from YMTC. The US last week added China’s top chip maker YMTC and 30 other Chinese companies to a list of units that US officials have not been able to inspect and which have increased tensions with China. Further strict action can also be taken against these companies.

The US Commerce Department is also investigating against YMTC if it violated rules related to exports to the US by selling chips to blacklisted Chinese telecommunications company Huawei Technology Co Ltd.

However, Apple has not yet responded to this news from its side. At the same time, YMTC has also refused to speak.

Apart from this, let us tell you that Brazil’s Sao Paulo Civil Court has fined Apple $ 19 million (about Rs 156 crore) on Thursday. Also asked to sell new iPhone with charger in their country. However, what decision the company will take now, it will be known only in the future. Judge Caramaru Afonso Francisco also said in his ruling that Apple should also provide chargers to people who have purchased the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series devices during the past two years. Last month, the Brazilian Justice Ministry on the iPhone, raising the same issue, imposed a fine on the iPhone. Along with this, there was talk of banning the sale of iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 series without charger.
