On August 15, the much-anticipated horror-comedy sequel ‘Stree 2’ starring Shraddha Kapoor hit theaters, and it has been creating quite a buzz at the box office. The film not only gives audiences a light scare with its premise involving the terror of “Sarkate,” but it also delivers plenty of laughs. Impressively, ‘Stree 2’ has outperformed blockbuster films like ‘Tiger Zinda Hai,’ ‘PK,’ and ‘Saaho’ in terms of box office earnings.
The cast, featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, has successfully delighted fans with their performances. Aparshakti Khurana also shone in his role as Rajkummar Rao’s friend. Recently, he spoke about the film’s success and the ongoing discussion around credit and recognition in Bollywood. He mentioned that discussing the topic openly might escalate unnecessary conversations.
Is Shraddha Kapoor Gaining More Popularity After ‘Stree 2’?
In an interview with Zoom, Aparshakti addressed the ongoing discourse around credit wars, suggesting that, following the success of ‘Stree 2,’ Shraddha Kapoor might be experiencing an increase in popularity despite having limited screen time. To this, Aparshakti responded affirmatively.
Aparshakti stated, “Look, this is a PR game. If your channel goes out and asks people on the streets, would they say that? I want to know. So, this is a PR game. I don’t want to comment on that. I love every star connected to my film, and I feel a bond with them. In such a positive atmosphere where the film has received so much love and success, it might be awkward to comment further.”
Aparshakti Khurana Doesn’t Want to Take Sides
He continued, “This credit war shouldn’t happen right now. Everyone associated with the film is happy and enjoying its success. If someone suggests that you must take one side, I do not want to do that. They are all the same to me, and I respect each of their journeys. One may dance well, another might act exceptionally, and some are good at public relations. Every individual has their unique talent that aids them in their journey. I cannot emphasize PR as the strongest aspect of my journey.”
Aparshakti commented further on the ongoing credit discussions surrounding ‘Stree 2,’ saying, “If I speak about this, it may lead to broader conversations, which is why I prefer not to say much. What the fans say is valid.” Furthermore, ‘Stree 2’ has emerged as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2024, raking in an impressive ₹485 crore worldwide in just ten days since its release.
Aparshakti’s Upcoming Projects
Having received immense love for his character in ‘Stree 2,’ Aparshakti is excited about his upcoming releases. Fans are eagerly awaiting his next projects, ‘Badtameez Gil’ and ‘Berlin,’ which are set to be released digitally in the near future.
