Chinese Nationals Allegedly Swindling Money from Gullible Indians

The High Court in Allahabad has ordered the Central and the state of Uttar Pradesh governments to submit their statements on online gambling websites upon hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in August.

The PIL was brought by social worker Shimla Shri Tripathi and is seeking a ban on online gambling sites. According to the petitioner, a big number of gaming websites owned by Chinese nationals are using fraudulent methods to obtain illegal gains from innocent users. The court in the face of a division bench consisting of Acting Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari and Justice Rajendra Kumar has also issued notifications to officers of such sites.

The petition describes how these websites offer gambling games to the public, for example a game where the user places a bet and has to predict the colour that will be brought forth by the website before the algorithm announces the result.

The petitioner then claims that these websites initially grant easy winnings to users, but when large numbers of players get attracted to the site and start placing bigger bets, the operators start rigging the results. In this way, the majority of betters lose their money, while the owners of these websites make illegal financial gains.

The petitioner was represented by advocate Shashank Shri Tripathi who said that when there is a winner on these sites, the platforms deduct large portions of their earnings claiming it is gambling tax payable to the government.

“Chinese citizens are owning such gambling websites. These websites are usually controlled by Chinese servers and are a planned scheme of fraud,” concludes the filed petition.

Blacklist Gambling Websites are Easy to Spot

Online casinos process financial transactions and have access to financial information; they store and process personal data as well. Moreover, many desi players see their bets as investments and being duped out of their funds by manipulated too low chances to win is not a desirable scenario.

This makes it important to be able to spot the rogue casino at once and one of the major clues is whether there is available information about what kind of a gambling license the website is using. If a casino is run from a badly regulated jurisdiction, the operators will probably be able to take advantage of players and such sites are to be avoided.

Badly working customer support, the lack of a clearly written “About us” section, no availability of external reviews, and an outdated design with poor resolution and too long loading times, are all telltale signs that something is wrong with this site.

Reputable Online Casinos Share Unmistakable Traits

Sometimes, instead of searching for suspicious signs, it is easier to look for the features that place a website undoubtedly among the serious and trustworthy online casinos in India. A proper gambling license practically acts like a big stamp of approval because license-holders are required to observe strict requirements for security, responsible gaming systems and fairness. Licenses issued by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) or by Curacao are famous for their reliability and are employed by a great number of the reputable casinos on the internet.

Sports teams, championships and celebrities have reputations of their own. They are very careful when building and maintaining their good name and never associate with businesses that can damage their face. Regardless of the money involved in such contracts, team and tournament sponsorships and brand ambassadors are always a good sign for legitimacy.

Strict account verification procedures and flawless 24/7 customer support are also among the traits that distinguish trustworthy gambling platforms from the rest. Reputable casinos are striving for sustainability, they implement responsible gambling mechanisms and always offer options to unsubscribe from promotional communication.
