During an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Mukesh revealed how Akshay Kumar stood by him during one of the most challenging periods of his life – the illness of his mother. Mukesh stated that Akshay helped him immensely during this time, yet he remained humble enough to not broadcast his deeds. This speaks volumes about Akshay’s character.

A Connection Beyond Friendship

Interestingly, Mukesh clarified that he and Akshay are not close friends. Nevertheless, the support Akshay provided during his mother’s medical crisis left a lasting impression on Mukesh. Approximately two years ago, Mukesh’s mother, Kamal Chhabra, faced significant health issues, specifically a heart problem, which led to considerable stress and helplessness on the part of Mukesh.

When filmmaker Anand L. Rai learned about Mukesh’s situation, he advised him that Akshay Kumar had close ties with a doctor who could help. Grateful for the referral, Mukesh promptly reached out to Akshay.

Akshay’s Support Was Steadfast

Much to Mukesh’s surprise, within minutes, he received a call from Akshay. The actor had arranged everything needed for Mukesh’s mother’s treatment. Mukesh recounted how Akshay checked in with him daily, inquiring about his and his mother’s well-being. Akshay’s first question during every conversation was always about Mukesh’s mother: “How is she? How are you?”

For 15 consecutive days, Akshay called to check up on them, even asking for updates from medical professionals. Mukesh recalled that despite Akshay’s busy schedule, he would take the time to call, even expressing his concern directly to Mukesh’s mother.

Unforgettable Kindness and Loss

Mukesh shared that Akshay not only offered emotional support but also took the time to meet his mother. Sadly, in 2023, Mukesh’s mother passed away, making Akshay’s gestures even more memorable and poignant. Mukesh remarked on how few people extend such kindness to someone they aren’t closely connected with, showcasing Akshay’s remarkable character.
