After a long study, it is found that still now millions of people from a different country are using the easily guess most common password ‘123456’ and ‘qwerty’.UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) made an analysis. The uncovered the gap in cyber knowledge. According to NCSC, it may leave people in danger of being Exploited.
According to the National Cyber Security Centre people should use more than three random but memorable words together to make the password strong.BBC reported, NCSC analyzed in the first cyber survey public database of Breached accounts for checking which password means words, phrase, and strings people are using more.
After the survey, it revealed that more than 23 Million people are still using the most common password ‘123456’. And this appeared in the top list. And the second most popular string is 123456789 which is not much harder to crack. In this top five, there are other three words which are used maximum. Those are ”qwerty”, ”password” and 1111111.
Ashley is the most common name which is used as password mostly, followed by Michel, Daniel, Jessica and Charlie. And people also use the passwords, Liverpool and Chelsea, when it comes to the premier league football team.
According to Ian Levy, Technical director of NCSC, The person who always uses well-known words, names and something common word as a password, is putting himself in risk to be hacked. He also said that none should protect sensitive data with some guessed word like their first name, local football team and favourite band.
