As the festive season approaches, many individuals working in different cities are making plans to head back home for celebrations like Diwali and Chhath. The high demand for train tickets often leads to unavailability, causing many to consider air travel as an alternative. However, before booking a flight, it’s crucial to check the ticket prices, as they are soaring during the festive period.

This year has seen an alarming increase in flight ticket prices for various domestic routes, with costs ranging from ₹20,000 to as high as ₹96,000. While certain airlines have introduced special offers for customers, these discounts pale in comparison to the steep rise in airfares. Let’s delve into the current state of flight prices, especially for travel from Mumbai to Patna, during this festive season.

Advance Bookings Surge by 30-35%

This year, Dussehra falls on October 12, followed closely by Diwali celebrations from October 31 to November 2. The festive period traditionally sees a significant uptick in people traveling home, impacting flight prices dramatically. Many travelers start booking their tickets months in advance, hoping for competitive prices. Unfortunately, despite promotional offers from airlines, airfares continue to rise steeply.

During the festive season, the number of advance flight bookings skyrockets. Reports indicate that bookings for October and November are already booming, showcasing the overwhelming demand as families look to reunite for the holidays.
